Vietnam Government puts 200 billion VND toward Nghi Son port

The Prime Minister has decided to give the northern province of Thanh Hoa 200 billion VND (12.5 million USD) to help build Pier No. 2 in the Nghi Son deep-water port, the port’s Management Board said on November 14.

Under the PM’s decision, the province will receive 30 billion VND in 2007 and 70 billion VND in 2008 while the remaining 100 billion VND will be handed out in 2009.

The PM has also put the Ministries of Planning and Investment and Finance in charge over these allocations.

The 225m-long, 24.5m-wide pier will be built at a cost of 273.5 billion VND in Nghi Son village, Tinh Gia district. Once operational, it will be able to receive ships of up to 30,000DWT.
